$21.5 Million in 10 Days

When it comes to getting your application – to quote one of our own, “from submission to commission”, there are a few things you can do to make the process as seamless as possible. We have reviewed the top techniques our elite advisors perform along with conducting several interviews from our case management team in order to break down how to get your cases paid as fast as possible – without any disruption.

First and foremost, before you start the application process, make sure you have checked to see that you are up-to-date with your contracting and training according to state regulations. Your FSR will be happy to confirm if your appointment is current.

Secondly, our elite advisors know that managing clients’ expectations are an essential component to their sales process. The most successful advisors inform their clients of the process and explain that often new requirements may pop up based off their application. Be proactive and let them know that this industry is one that is always making little changes to qualifications and standards but that you will do your due diligence to anticipate this and keep them informed.

Third, communication is key. There are a couple of ways our elite advisors communicate with our case management team. A descriptive cover letter is definitely a best practice. It should include a brief description of the applicant stating the amount of insurance being purchased and what program they are applying for. Also, include a brief life synopsis with an income description along with the purpose for the life insurance. Another way our advisors communicate with their case managers is by having an application review phone call with them. The time it takes to get through the application with your case manager could save you much more time later on. This is the best way to ensure everything has been completed on the application.

Lastly, a medical exam needs to be ordered. Your case manager will be happy to set it up for you. Three forms will need to be completed and submitted along with the application: (1) Agent’s Report Page, (2) HIPPA form, and (3) HIV/AIDs Consent form.

Perhaps the best example of how beneficial submitting a clean application can increase the pace and likelihood of it getting placed is our case of the quarter that had a $21.5 million face amount.

The total time from submission to being placed in-force was only 10 business days! With the right preparation, any case – no matter the size – can go through just as quickly.

A couple of takeaways from this case that you can apply to your own business to ensure a smooth process are:

  • The application was perfect. There was nothing missing. Everything was filled out correctly and all forms were included.
  • The FSR and case manager proactively managed the underwriting process by speaking with the underwriter beforehand to make sure additional requirements would not be needed.
  • Tax returns and medical records were gathered before submitting the application.
  • The client was pre-scheduled for an exam and it was included with submission.

It is the goal of every employee at LifePro to help our advisors succeed. You can be confident in knowing that your personal case manager will oversee all the activity of each one of your cases to make sure your application process is as smooth as possible.
