Not a 'real problem' cause found another way, but will just mention it here...

I usually click on the username and them select PM. I did a compose test ... did it work?

Yep, it worked... duh??!!

Learn something everyday! It is kind of funky how it works. .. I like the ability to send the same message to multiple user names, that could be very handy at times.
